Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Background
At the June 22, 2020, Special Board Meeting, the Village Board approved a resolution in support of the Obama Foundation's Pledge which was taken by Mayor Anan Abu-Taleb as part of a national effort to address police violence and systemic racism.

At that same meeting, the Village Board directed staff to: (1) hold a series of public forums to listen to the public as they share their experiences with the Village's police department; (2) identify a third-party consultant to examine policing in the Village; (3) review the Citizen Police Oversight Committee ("CPOC") procedural rules and applicable provisions of the Village Code to determine if CPOC is operating within the parameters of those rules; and (4) evaluate use-of-force policies in accordance with the resolution in support of the Obama Foundation Pledge.

Two public remote meetings were held on August 5, 2020, and August 6, 2020, and individuals submitted private testimonies via email. A Request for Proposals ("RFP") for an independent assessment of policing, training, accountability, and community engagement regarding the Oak Park Police Department was issued on October 5, 2020, and an Addendum was issued on October 21, 2020. ...
