Background
The proposed ordinance was presented to the Liquor Control Review Board ("LCRB") at the LCRB's August 25, 2022, special meeting at the request of OPRF Civic Theatre, DBA Madison Street Theatre ("Madison Street Theatre"). Madison Street Theatre is the Village's sole Class D-11 liquor licensee and it is located at 1010 Madison Street. Madison Street Theatre seeks to offer for sale alcoholic liquors in addition to beer and wine. Class D-11 licensees are currently restricted to the sale of beer and wine only. The ordinance also amends the Village Code to provide for a definition of a live performance venue to include musical acts, theatrical plays or acts, stand-up comedy, and other similar types of entertainment.
