A Resolution Approving an Amendment to the Task Order with GFT Infrastructure, Inc. for Construction Engineering for the Oak Park Avenue Streetscape Project to Change the Not-to-Exceed Amount from $1,522,388 to $1,720,388 and Authorizing its Execution
..end
Introduction
overview
As discussed at the Village Board meeting on February 18, 2025, an amendment to the existing Task Order with GFT Infrastructure is needed to increase the amount to include additional work related primarily to public engagement, outreach, and coordination for the streetscape project due to deferring the project from 2025 construction to 2026 construction and for additional marketing efforts requested by the Village. The changes amount to $198,000 and increase the Task Order from $1,522,388 to $1,720,388. Even though there are increased costs associated with the additional work to oversee this project due to the delay from 2025 construction to 2026, the overall streetscape construction project is trending under budget at this time.

Background
As discussed at the Village Board meeting on February 18, 2025, an amendment to the existing Task Order with GFT Infrastructure is needed to increase the amount to include additional work related primarily to public engagement, outreach, and coordination for the streetscape project due to deferring the project from 2025 construction to 2026 construction and for additional marketing efforts requested by the Village.
GFT and their subconsultant, the Prescott Group, did additional public engagement and coordination with the business district for the duration of 2025 in preparation for the 2026 construction project that exceeded the original scope of the contract. In addition to this extra year of work, the Village has requested additional services from the consultant team for engagement and marketing of businesses and the business district during construction including planning for special events for district and creating a Bike the Biz marketing campaign <https://www.oak-park.us/News-articles/Summertime-Bike-to-the-Biz-campaign-supports-local-businesses-during-Oak-Park-Avenue-construction>. This additional work amounts to $198,000 and adjusts the Task Order amount from $1,522,388 to $1,720,388.
Even though there are increased costs associated with the additional work to oversee this project due to the delay from 2025 construction to 2026, the overall streetscape construction project is trending under budget at this time.
