Fiscal Impact
The proposed FY 2016 budget recommends a total of $150,000.00 for Parkway Tree Pruning in the General Fund, External Support account no. 1001-43800-741-530667. Final award will be pending approval of the FY 2016 Budget.

Background
The Village’s tree pruning program is a four year pruning cycle where every village owned tree over 6” should be pruned during one of those years. All trees within a specified geographical area are pruned in a single season. All pruning is done by a contractor. The 2016 pruning area includes all trees located within area bounded by South Blvd. to Madison St. from Austin Blvd. to Harlem Ave. and the Eisenhower to Madison St. from Harlem Ave. to East Ave.
Davis Tree Care and Landscape, Inc. was selected by an open bidding process for the 2015 program. The 2015 agreement has an option for renewal for two additional years. Forestry Staff feel Davis did an excellent job at a competitive price and would like to renew the contract for the 2016 program
Davis Tree Care and Landscaping, Inc. is a subsidiary of Sterling Tree Solutions, LLC of Phoenix, IL. They have requested that we continue to work with them under that company.
