Background
The subject property, formerly occupied by HJ Mohr & Son Company, is located at the southeast corner of Maple Avenue and Garfield Street. The property is located in a GC General Commercial Zoning District. According to the application, the plans are to demolish all improvements on the site and construct the daycare center in its place. Kiddie Academy daycare center would provide care for approximately 160 children, ages six months to five (5) years, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing on February 2, 2022. No one testified in opposition to the requested special use permit. There were three neighbors who testified in favor of the proposed development. The Zoning Board of Appeals ratified its findings of fact by a 7-0 vote on February 2, 2022.
