Background
Section XX (“Miscellaneous”) of the Village of Oak Park Personnel Manual includes miscellaneous personnel policies, including a section regarding the “Use of Village Vehicles, Equipment, Supplies, Tools and Uniforms.” Staff recommends amending this section to clearly identify the Village’s policy for the transport of non-employees in Village-owned vehicles. Staff’s recommendation is that transport of non-employees in Village-owned vehicles may only be permitted for official Village business purposes and must be approved in advance and in writing by an employee’s supervisor.
