Overview
The Village entered into an agreement with Altamanu, Inc. for Landscape Design and Oversight for FY2018. The Village’s landscape container contractor has asked for quantities and designs for the spring 2019 installation prior to the end of the year based on changes to the industry and requirements of the growers. This will require additional work outside the scope of the original agreement to be completed by Altamnu in FY2018. The amendment to the existing agreement will allow for the completion of that work.

Fiscal Impact
The adopted FY2018 Forestry budget includes $348,200.00 for Regular and Business District Landscape Maintenance within the Landscaping General Contractuals line item (1001-43800-742-530660). Approximatly $336,000.00 of that funding has been allocated to existing contracts leaving approximately $12,000.00 available for other work.
The amendment would increase Altamanu’s agreement by $7,000.00 from $25,000.00 to 32,000.00.
Background
The Village entered into a Professional Services agreement with Altamanu, Inc. on March 21, 2018 in the amount of $25,000.00. The scope of work included the design of movable landscape planters found throughout the Village and its business districts for the 2018 season and designs for improving the landscape at Village Hall as part of the parking lot improvements scheduled for 2019.
The Village Container Planting Contractor has requested plant quantities and designs for the spring 2019 installtion befor the end of the fiscal year. This is a change from the process in the past and is facilitated by changes to how the larger industry operates. In order to obtain the preferred plant materials and to ensure the Village is able to receive these materials, the growers need to know what the Village intends to use. This design will provide the grower the information they need however, this work is outside the scope of Altamanu’s orginal proposal. Village staff is requesting the not to exceed amount of the agreement be increased by $7,000.00 to $32,000.00 to provide the necessary information before the end of the fiscal year.
The Village has contracted with Altamanu, Inc. to provide landscaping consulting services since 2005. They have always done an excellent job and are a great partner.

The Village Board approved funding for Landcape Design and Installation as part of the FY2018 budget.

It is anticipated that the Public Works Department will be bringing this agreement to the Village Board annually.
