Background

D&D Shack LLC seeks a Restaurant Class B-1 Liquor License. This license would permit D&D Shack to sell and serve alcoholic liquor for consumption onsite during business operations. D&D Shack, located at 7007 W North Avenue, is a new business that intends to open their doors soon.

At the June 23, 2026 Liquor Control Review Board (“LCRB”) meeting, the LCRB unanimously voted to recommend that D&D Shack be granted a B-1 license.

Timing Considerations

If approved, D&D Shack would be able to receive their liquor license at the moment its business license is issued, and it is ready to open its doors for business.

Staff Recommendation

Adopt the Ordinance.

Advantages:

Approval of the license can benefit the local economy by allowing the business to sell alcohol.

Approval of the license advances the Village Board goal to support new businesses.

The Village receives a sales tax on the alcohol sold in the establishment.

Disadvantages:

There are no disadvantages to adopting the Ordinance

Alternatives

Alternative 1:

The Village Board can reject the Ordinance.

Advantages:

There are no advantages to this action.

Disadvantages:

If the board decides to reject the ordinance, the Village’s local economy will not benefit from the creation of jobs, payment of taxes, and the attraction of new business
