Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. Staff recommends approval to renew the Administrative Law Judge contract for the year 2026.

Background

The Administrative Law Judges hears parking and local ordinance citations. The judges currently meet all State law requirements for their positions.

Timing Considerations

The 2025 contract ends December 31, 2025.

Budget Impact

There is no budget impact. The hourly fee for the administrative law judges is $88.68. The rate is consistent with the rates in many other suburban communities whose hourly rates range from $65.00 to $125.00

                     Staff will begin the process of finding additional ALJs. This action can delay hearings and increase backlogs.

                     Staff will provide the Board with additional information requested.

                     This action result in a delay in hearings, and backlogs can increase.
