Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Background

The Village and the Union have reached a tentative agreement for a successor agreement. This is a three-year agreement.

Staff Recommendation

Approve the Resolution.

Advantages:

                     The employees of the Streets Divisions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement; therefore, a successor agreement is required when one expires.

Disadvantages:

                     If the Village Board does not ratify the tentative agreements, negotiations will continue.

Alternatives

Alternative 1:

The Village Board could delay action and return to Executive Session seeking more information.

Advantages:

                     The Board can return to Executive Session and gain additional information requested.

Disadvantages:

                     There are no disadvantages to this action.

Anticipated Future Actions

Next steps, if not approved during this meeting, include ratification by the Village Board and adoption of a successor collective bargaining agreement. The Memorandum of Understanding is an agreement that will accompany the final agreement as it relates to the details of a transition to a new sick leave benefit.
