Background

The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus opened the Low Income Energy Efficiency Outreach and Engagement grant opportunity to support local governments and community-based organizations in the ComEd service territory. Grants will be up to $25,000 to support outreach and education to low-income households to help them understand the benefits of energy efficiency and guide them to the tools and resources that can help them save energy and money.

The Village currently offers energy efficiency grants and helps connect eligible households to Utility programs and services. In 2026, the Village will launch the Energy Efficiency One Stop Shop (CROP action BD06). This grant will help with education and outreach and connect low-income households in the Village to these resources.
