Overview
This amendment is for D.E.S. Painting to continue to finish the remainder of the 1st floor of Village Hall. Originally D.E.S. Painting was hired to complete only those ares that are being remodeled during Phase I of a multi-phase project, however in order to have a uniform appearance, staff is recommending the vendor complete all areas on the 1st floor at the same time instead of as part of a phased project. These additional areas will include Adjudication, Parking & Mobility Services, the employee lounge, the hallway near Community Room 101 and the stairwell leading to the Council Chambers.

Fiscal Impact
The cost to paint the Public Works Center second floor areas would be funded from the FY 2015 Capital Improvements Building Improvement Fund account no. 3012-43790-101-540673 account. Staff recommends that this amendment be funded from a project that will be delayed from FY 15 to another year, the Pneumatic Control Replacement Project at Village Hall in the amount of $225,000.
Background
At the March 2, 2015 Village Board meeting, the Village Board approved an agreement with DES Painting to paint two stairwells at the Public Works Center and selected areas at Village Hall. The Public Works Center stairwells were painted in May of 2015 and DES Painting performed very well. The Village has already awarded $48,038.50 to this vendor for these projects. The additional $8,850 for this amendment will bring the total award to D.E.S. Painting at $53,888.50.

If D.E.S. Painting performs well on this project, staff would invite the company to submit a proposal for the following phases of paint work needed at Village Hall and possibly other areas in other Village-owned buildings.
