Background

On May 7th, the Village Board approved a Local Public Agency Engineering Services Agreement with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., for the Phase I Preliminary Engineering Design of the Home Avenue Bridge in an amount of $1,812,191. The Village was previously awarded federal grants related to caps over I-290 that will be used to fund 80% of the costs for this design work.  To utilize these funds, the Village must enter into an agreement with the State and adopt a separate funding resolution committing the Village to its local share of the project’s costs.

Fiscal Impact

The previously approved cost for the Phase I design of the bridge is $1,812,191.  The FY24 Budget includes $300,000 for this project in the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works-Engineering, Project Engineering account no. 3095.43780.101.570706.  The remaining $1,512,191 will be included in the proposed FY25 Budget.  Federal funds will be used to pay for 80% of the costs for this project. The Village will pay for the costs for the work upfront and be reimbursed by the State. The Village’s local share of the Phase I design is $362,439.
