Overview
Overview
The Water and Sewer Division of the Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining the water distribution and sewer collection systems in the Village. The department annually seeks competitive bids for water main parts and materials and sewer pipe parts and materials.
Body
Staff Recommendation
Approve the Resolution.
Fiscal Impact
The FY2018 Water and Sewer Fund Budget allocates funds for materials and supplies for the operation and maintenance of the sewer collection and water distribution systems in the Operational Supplies account, numbers 5040-43730-777-560631 ($110,000.00) and 5040-43750-781-560631 ($25,000.00).
Background
Four vendors provided material price bids for 2018. The materials are purchased from the lowest cost qualified vendor based on the availability and quality of the material. Staff is bringing forward only the bid from the vendor that would exceed $25,000.00. Based on the bid summary and the estimate of materials needed, staff anticipates spending up to an amount of $75,000.00 with Mid-American Water Inc. It is anticipated to spend less than the Village Managers spending authority of $25,000.00 with the other vendors.
