Board and Commission Information
Village board and commission members are appointed by the Village President with the consent of the Village Board. Commission members are recruited and recommended by the Citizen Involvement Commission (CIC); Chairs are appointed by the Village President after considering input from commission leadership and staff. Term limits and term extensions are governed by Section 2-1-10 of the Village Code.
Plan Commission - term extensions. Commissioners Paul Beckwith and Jon Hale have each are each serving the second of two consecutive terms, the limit under Section 2-1-10(A). Section 2-1-10(D) permits the Village President, with the consent of the Board, to extend a member’s final term by up to twelve months when the member’s departure would negatively impact completion of a special project or other matter. Their continued service will support the Plan Commission’s work on Missing Middle zoning amendments and Comprehensive Plan review, consistent with the Board’s 2026-27 goal of Vibrant, Diverse, Connected Neighborhoods. Both extensions end October 5, 2027.
Plan Commission holds public hearings for planned developments, rezoning, special uses, Zoning Ordinance text and map amendments, and reviews plats of vacation and plats of subdivision. The Commission also makes ongoing revisions to the Village of Oak Park’s comprehensive plan for the present and future development or redevelopment of the Village.
Transportation Commission - Chair appointment. Jack Eskin has served on the Transportation Commission since May 15, 2023, completing one full member term. His second member term (began May 2026) will conclude September 28, 2026, and his term as Chair will run September 29, 2026 - September 28, 2029. His appointment as Chair falls within the three-consecutive term limit for Chairs under section 2-1-10(B). The Chair term runs through September 28, 2029, consistent with the staggered three-year terms in Section 2-15-1.
Transportation Commission - reappointment. Jason Nudelman is recommended for a second three-year term, July 31, 2026 - July 30, 2029. Commissioner Nudelman has continued to serve pending Board action since his first term expired on July 31, 2026.
Transportation Commission hears parking and traffic concerns and makes recommendations for improved parking and traffic conditions, the administration and enforcement of traffic regulations, and public education about traffic safety.
