This item is for the Village-wide parkway tree watering program for 2024. The Village waters newly planted parkway trees during their first growing season. The Agreement provides for two possible one (1) year renewals. It is proposed to exercise the second of the two possible renewals with Everest Snow Management, Inc. for the fiscal year 2024 Village-wide parkway tree watering program.End

Background
The Village typically plants approximately 300 - 500 trees each year on Village right-of-way in parkway and medians. To ensure a successful installation, part of the after care for these trees is watering provided by a contractor for the first growing season.
In April 2022, Village staff requested bids for the village-wide parkway tree watering program. Everest Snow Management, Inc. was the low responsive bidder for this contract. Everest Snow Management, Inc. previously completed this work for the Village in the past (2017-2023). They are a quality contractor who provides excellent service.
Village staff requests to exercise the second of the two possible renewals outlined in the original contract.
Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2024 Capital Improvement Fund Budget includes $200,000.00 to perform parkway tree purchase, planting, and watering in account # 3095-43780-101-570957 (Public Works, Capital Projects, Tree Replacement).
Of this budgeted amount, $65,000.00 is proposed for the watering of the trees from the plantings last fall and this spring and $131,000.00 is proposed for the purchase of trees. The remaining $4,000.00 will be used to purchase watering bags and to work with a local nursery to purchase, plant, and grow seedlings until they are ready to be planted in the parkway.
A total of $65,000.00 from this account is proposed to be awarded to Everest Snow Management, Inc. and should allow for the watering of approximately 300 - 325 trees planted in the late fall of 2023 and spring of 2024.
