On October 14, 2025 the Village Board approved the collective bargaining agreement between with the Automotive Mechanics’ International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (IAM), AFL-CIO Local 701. This is a minor amendment changing the employee evaluation period to align with the contract.

Prior Board Action
The Village Board authorizes all collective bargaining agreements. The Village of Oak Park has nine (9) labor unions.
Background
The Village and the IAM reached agreement on a successor collective bargaining agreement. The Village Board approved the successor contract on October 14, 2025. This agenda item is an amendment to align the employee performance evaluation period with the contract period. Previously this contract was renewed on a calendar year, January 1 to December 31st, therefore the employee evaluation period was from January to December. The contract was later changed to a July 1 renewal date, but the employee evaluation period was not adjusted. Both parties agree to amend the current contract and align the employee evaluation period from July 1 to June 30.
