Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Fiscal Impact

A previous annual maintenance agreement with Anderson Elevator Co. was approved on December 10th, 2018 in an amount of $29,255.00.  The addition of this agreement brings the total contracted amount for Anderson Elevator Co. to $43,255.00.  The full costs for this additional project would be funded through GL#: 5060.43770.788.570705 Holley Court Garage Building Improvements, which has a balance of $460,000.00. 

 

Background

The Holley Court Garage has three (3) elevators.  During the recent extreme weather events, three (3) circuit boards which control the operation of the west elevator were damaged.  Due to the extent of the damage, the west elevator is inoperable and is currently closed to the public until replacement circuit boards can be installed and troubleshooting of any further damage is performed.

 

Anderson Elevator Co. is the Village’s contracted service provider for elevator maintenance and repair at the three parking garages, Village Hall, Public Works Center, and the Dole Library.  The independent contractor agreement held between the Village and Anderson Elevator Co. was renewed on December 10th, 2018 to cover monthly maintenance services through 2019. 

 

Alternatives

The alternative to this recommendation could be to delay action and go through the Village’s RFP process.  This alternative would cause a significant delay in repair and further inconvenience users of the parking garage.

The Village Board approved the renewal of an independent contractor agreement with Anderson Elevator Co on December 10th, 2018.
