Background
The Zoning Ordinance contains contradictory regulations relative to the use of governmental property. This is a clean-up of these inconsistencies as well as establishing broader regulations to necessitate the use of governmental parking spaces on nearby property as long as they are owned and operated by the same governmental agency. The following recommendations will allow any governmental activity, building and use to operate as a permitted use but would still be required to meet all other bulk zoning regulations, such as setbacks, height, etc.
Alternatives
The Villager Board may approve the application as recommended.
The Village Board may modify the application.
The Village Board may deny the application.
Previous Board Action
At its March 2, 2015 meeting, the Village Board referred the the Zoning Ordinance text amendments to the Plan Commission for public hearing.
Citizen Advisory Commission Action
The Plan Commission held a public hearing on March 5, 2015 and March 9, 2015 and recommended approval of the text amendments by a majority vote of its members then in attendance. The Plan Commission fully supported the findings of fact. There was no opposition to this application at the public hearing.
