Adopt the Resolution.

Background
Public Works Unit 410, a model year 2011 - John Deere 410 Backhoe, was scheduled for replacement in the Public Works Ten Year Vehicle Replacement Schedule. Assessing the unit's condition and its usage, Staff determined that a rebuild by the manufacturer's only authorized dealer in this area, would be more beneficial to the Village than replacing the unit. The benefits include a smaller financial outlay than replacement, existing parts stock can continue to be utilized, the staff would have a refurbished piece of equipment that they are already familiar with, and a one-year parts and labor warrantee. An estimate was acquired from the manufacturer's only authorized local dealer and is included. The estimate is a worst-case scenario as all items may not need replacement.

Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2023 Water & Sewer Vehicle budget provides funds for service to cover this expense. $75,000.00 has been budgeted in account no. 5040.43730.777.570750 Water Vehicles, for the Backhoe Refurbishing.
