Overview
The Fiscal Year 2020 Fleet Replacement Fund includes the replacement of six Police vehicles. Five of these vehicles will be replaced with 2020 Dodge Chargers with the Police Package. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative Joint Purchasing Program awarded the bid to Napleton Dodge of Westmont, Illinois.

Fiscal Impact
The purchase of three Patrol 2020 Dodge Chargers with the Police Package, will cost $75,621.00. The cost for each vehicle is $25,207.00.
The purchase of two unmarked 2020 Dodge Chargers with the Police Package, will cost $50,160.00. The cost for each vehicle is $25,240.00 and $24,920.00.
The total cost for five 2020 Dodge Chargers will be $125,781.00.
Funding is provided in the Fleet Replacement Fund in account No. 3032-43900-857-570750 via a transfer from the Federal RICO Fund. The amount of $214,000.00 is budgeted in the Fleet Replacement Fund.
Funds for necessary equipment such as light bars, sirens, etc. will also come from this account but will be purchased separately from vendors who supply this equipment.
Background
Each year, the Village allocates funds for the annual replacement of vehicles in the Fleet Replacement Fund. The Public Works Department manages the budget for vehicles that will replace those units having reached the end of their service life under the fleet replacement program.
