Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Background

The Village of Oak Park has nine (9) collective bargaining agreements for various Village positions.  Each collective bargaining agreement has a unique expiration. The Village bargains for a successor agreement with each union as the agreements expire.

 

Fiscal Impact

Wages and benefits associated with collective bargaining agreements are covered by the Village’s annual budget. Wages will be retroactive to 1/1/24 for all current or retired employees covered by this agreement.

 

DEI Impact

This contract is for salary and benefits for Village employees.  Village DEI initiatives for these employees is coordinated with the Village’s Office of DEI. New to this contract is a language access policy that compensates employees who are selected to speak multiple languages if the Department identifies a need. 

 

Alternatives

The Village Board could delay action and seek additional information.

 

Previous Board Action

This is a routine practice which requires both the Union and the Village Board to ratify a subsequent contract. The Union voted to approve this contract.
