Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), observed annually on March 31, was founded in 2010 by transgender advocate Rachel Crandall to celebrate the lives, contributions, and resilience of transgender and gender diverse people. The day also brings attention to the disproportionate levels of discrimination, poverty, and violence experienced by the transgender community, particularly among Black transgender women.
TDOV serves as both a celebration and a call to action. While visibility can foster understanding and acceptance, not all transgender individuals can safely live openly due to ongoing social and systemic barriers. Public recognition helps affirm the dignity of transgender residents and reinforces the Village's commitment to equity, inclusion, and the safety of all community members.
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in anti-LGBTQ legislation and misinformation, contributing to increased marginalization and harm. Accurate representation and inclusion of transgender voices-especially in media, policy discussions, and community life-remain essential to building understanding and advancing equity.
