Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board last approved an Ordinance for Special Service Area One at its meeting held on December 3, 2024 (ORD 24-188).
Background
Special Service Area (SSA) Number One was created by Village Ordinance on December 17, 1973, and provides for a special annual tax levy on properties located within the Downtown Oak Park area. The taxes are collected by the Cook County Treasurer and remitted to the Village. The Finance Department then forwards the levy proceeds to Downtown Oak Park, the organization that the Village has contracted within the area that provides marketing support and maintenance functions for SSA #1.
