Through the founding of Rainbow PUSH Coalition and his leadership following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Reverend Jackson helped shape a generation of civic engagement grounded in inclusion and coalition-building. This proclamation recognizes his national impact and invites reflection on the values of equity, civic participation, and shared responsibility that continue to guide communities today.
