Overview
The Department of Public Works has a surplus inventory of vehicles and materials consisting of three vehicles, two litter cleaning machines, a broken VAT45 charging system tester, miscellaneous construction materials, meter heads, and 16 two-way radios. The vehicles and materials will be sold at auction and if not sold at auction, then they will be disposed of as scrap.

Sales received from the auction for vehicles and materials will be placed in the fund from which they were purchased originally.
Background
In accordance with Village policy and State law (65 ILCS 5/11-76-4), the Village may, by Ordinance, authorize the disposition of designated personal property (as opposed to real property) in order to dispose of vehicles and materials no longer usable to the Village. Items on the attached siposal list will be disposed of via internet auction. The Village has had success using this method of disposal. If the vehicles or materials are not sold by auction, they will be disposed of as scrap.
Related to the vehicles scheduled for disposal, one vehicle is drivable but all of these vehicles have been involved in accidents causing damage exceeding their value. The operational vehicle will be auctioned and the other vehicles shall have the usable parts removd and then the vehicles will be scrapped. The sixteen two-way radios are obsolete and no longer of useable. The litter cleaning machines have not been operated for several years and are obsolete. The construction materials have been unused for multiple years. The meter heads are either worn out or displaced by parking pay boxes.
Alternatives
The Board can delay action to gain additional information.
