Fiscal Impact

The Fiscal Year 2021 Budget allocated funds for Full Face Respirators and Filters in the equipment account, 1001.42400.101.570710

Background

Current full-face respirators within the department need to be replaced due to the manufacturer no longer creating filters for the product. All sworn personnel assigned to field duties are issued a full-face respirator and filter for use in any incident where it is suspected that a nuclear, biological, or chemical weapon has been used.

A request for pricing was issued and four vendors provided bids for the requested products. Streicher’s was the second-lowest bidder but they will take and recycle our old masks for $50 credit per mask.
