Overview
The Village Board is required to hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the coming fiscal year in order to receive any additional commentary and collect public testimony regarding the recommendations. Attached is a copy of the draft budget.

Background
State staute (65 ILCS 5/8-2-9.9) and Village Ordinance (2-6-5-G) requires the public hearing to be held prior to the final passage of the Budget. This hearing fulfills the requirement.
The hearing may begin, at the discretion of the Board, with a brief summary of the proposed Budget. Following the presentation, the Board may allow public testimony if desired. After the hearing, the tentative budget may be further revised and passed without further notice, inspection or hearing.

Previous Board Action
The Village Board held Study Sessions on the budget on Thursday, Novemer 2, 2015 and Monday, November 9, 2015. Finance Committees of the Village Board were also held starting in August.

Anticipated Future Actions/Commitments
Additional Special Meetings to review and discuss the budget recommendations can be scheduled for Monday, November 23 and/or Monday, November 30 subject to the consensus of the Board.
It is anticipated that the FY16 Budget will be presented for adoption on Monday, December 7, 2015.
