Christopher B. Burke Engineering (CBBEL) designed the Madison Street resurfacing project which was completed in 2019 and completed the design of the proposed streetscape and utility project on Madison from Oak Park Avenue to East Avenue. The proposed amendment is needed to pay for additional work required for utilizing Rebuild Illinois Funds and due to delays in the bidding due to staffing and development coordination. The amendment adjusts the existing not to exceed contract amount from $966,444 to $992,575.

Background
Village staff has been working with Christopher Burke Engineering (CBBEL) since 2015 on the design of the Madison Street road diet and resurfacing project and the proposed streetscape and utility project from Oak Park Avenue to East Avenue. The road diet and resurfacing project was completed in 2019. The design of the streetscape and utility improvement project was completed this fall and the construction project was awarded at the October 30, 2023 Village Board meeting. There were additional costs for the design associated primarily with adding REBUILD Illinois funds to the project and some work associated with additional permitting requirements. The Village had REBUILD funds leftover from the Division Street project and the Madison Street project was a good fit for these funds but required some additional design hours to revise plans and specifications to match these...
