This project includes the replacement of the private property portion of potable lead water service lines at pre-approved locations in the village. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds will be utilized to complete the work at qualifying properties meeting the "below median income" requirements. The low responsible bidder was Construction by Camco, Inc.

Fiscal Impact
The cost for this project would be funded through the Fiscal Year 2021 Community Development Block Grant Fund, Account No. 2083-46201-101-583655 in the amount of $50,000.00.
Construction by Camco's bid was for $47,165.07 for five locations. Staff recommends assigning the budget amount of $50,000.00 to this project since it will account for any unforeseen extras.
Background
This project includes the replacement of the private property owner side of the lead water service line at five locations. This is the line from the shutoff valve in the parkway to the water meter inside the property. The selected locations have had the Village side of the service previously replaced with copper.
The objective of this project is to locate low-income property owners who still have a lead water service on the private side and offer a solution to upgrade the water service where they could not do the work on their own means. CDBG funds would be used to install a new 1" copper line from the curb stop (B-box) up to and including a new meter setting inside the house.
