Background
The Oak Park Police Department has been revising the OPPD's Prohibition Against Bias Based Policing Policy to include restrictions of traffic stops related to equipment and other non-safety violations. This action is aligned with one of the recommendations contained in the Berry Dunn Public Safety Assessment.

Timing Considerations
The Village has not yet entered into a contract with a consultant for this work. Negotiating and finalizing a contract, and subsequent Board approval may require additional time.
Financial Impact
There are costs associated with retaining a consultant to support the review process. Funds have not been budgeted for this review. A subsequent budget amendment may follow once a contract is finalized with Pivot Consulting Group.
