Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

The North Central Council of Mayors recently released a call for projects for applying for Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds for federal fiscal years 2030 and 2031. STP funds can only be used on roads within the Federal Highway system which are classified as collectors or higher. Of the upcoming planned projects, the resurfacing of portions of Lombard Avenue between Roosevelt and Madison and the resurfacing of East Avenue from Roosevelt Road to Lake Street best fit the requirements associated with these STP funds for the grant applications.

Background
The Village has historically applied for Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds to resurface the major streets in the Village. The North Central Council of Mayors recently released a call for projects for applying for STP funds for FY2030 and 2031. Applications are due November 24, 2025.
Based on the requirements of using the STP funds and the condition of the eligible roadways, the best fit for these funds are for resurfacing portions of East Avenue and Lombard Avenue. East Avenue between Roosevelt Road and Lake Street and Lombard Avenue between Roosevelt Road and Madison Street are classified as Minor Collectors.
Exact limits for the grant applications are being determined by Engineering Division staff during the grant application process in order to maximize the project's scoring and likelihood of receiving the grant, while also trying to maximize the length of the project and amount of federal funds being requested.
