Background
The 2023 pavement preservation project includes crack filling, pavement patching, micro surfacing, and pavement rejuvenators on various local streets throughout the Village. Micro surfacing is an ultra-thin overlay around 1/4" thick on roadways used to help seal the pavement, smooth out any rutting, and provide a new driving surface which helps extend the life of the underlying pavement by approximately 5-7 years. Asphalt rejuvenator is a liquid emulsion sprayed on the roads which aims to restore and preserve the durability and flexibility of asphalt. The Village received one bid for this project from R.W. Dunteman Company. The bid of $450,000 is near the engineer's estimate of $449,239.25.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2023 Budget includes $450,000 for this project in account # 3095-43780-101-570977 (Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works- Engineering, and Pavement Preservation).
