Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Staff negotiated a successor Collective Bargaining Agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO, Local Union No. 9 for the Period of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020. This item authorizes the Village Manager to execute the Agreement.

Wages and benefits related to this agenda item are budgeted annually in the Personnel Services account for the Public Works Departments, Electrical Division.

 

Background

The last Agreement expired December 31, 2017. This is the successor Agreement.  Along with this agreement is a Memorandum of Understanding reached during negotiations as a compromise with the Union related to certain language proposed by the Village in exchange for using a current employee’s time acting an interim Sr. Electrical worker as time counted toward his probation as outlined in the contract if he should get the permanent Sr. Electrical worker position (for which since then he has been promoted into that position permanently).
