Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
On July 19, 2021, Trustee Buchanan moved and seconded by Trustee Walker-Peddakotla to amend the Building Code Advisory Commission's (BCAC) 2021 and 2022 Workplan to review options to amend the building codes to require certain sustainability measures such as heat pumps and building improvement standards such as all-electric requirements.

Background
On March 8, 2021, the Village Board approved the BCAC's 2021 Workplan which has a review of the International Green Construction Code. See Attached 2021 Workplan. The review of the International Green Construction Code was added to the BCAC's 2020 work plan as part of the Board's discussion on January 21, 2020, approving the 2020 Commission workplans. Due to Covid 19, the BCAC was unable to finish its review of the International Green Construction Code in 2020 and carried over this item to its 2021 workplan. Due to limited meeting schedules, the BCAC still needs to complete its review of the International Green Construction Code and will likely complete its review in 2022. Should the Board approve the present Motion, the BCAC will add this item to their discussion related to the review of the International Green Construction Code.

Alternatives
The Village Board could wait to refer the matter until after the BCAC has completed its review of the International Green Construction Code. Additionally, the Village Board could also refer this matter to the Plan Commission for addition to the Planned Development process to rev...
