Background

Fire department personnel have a list of clothing/uniform items that they order, as needed and approved, during the fiscal year. These items are ordered intermittently as the year progresses and the total amount spent with this vendor will exceed $25,000, requiring Board approval. We have a positive history over the last several years working with this company. They have consistently provided us with the lowest overall per item costs as well as excellent customer service. They also provide us with quality items that are consistent which allows us to maintain our uniform standards. They have a brick and mortar sizing center and an online store customized for the OPFD with individual log-ins for ease of use.  This year, because of a total of five new department employees, we have exceeded our estimated spending with this company. Doing our due diligence, staff went out a got proposals from 2 additional companies that perform this type of work.
