Recommendation
Adopt the Ordinance.
Background
This agenda item is the follow-up item to the separate agenda item for a motion to concur with the Transportation Commission's recommendations for traffic calming on the 1150 blocks of South Euclid and Wesley, upgrading from two-way to four-way stops at the intersections of Fillmore with Euclid and Wesley, and establishing a 20 mile per hour park speed zone adjacent to Euclid Square Park, and direct staff to prepare the necessary ordinances. This Ordinance establishes a 20-mile-per-hour park speed zone along the perimeter of Euclid Square Park on the 1150 blocks of South Euclid and Wesley and Fillmore between Euclid and Wesley.
There are currently park speed zones that were established adjacent to six (6) parks in the Village in 2011.
Pending Village Board concurrence, staff will fabricate and install the park zone speed signage.
Fiscal Impact
Staff estimates it will cost less than $1,000 to install speed limit signage. The FY23 Budget includes funds for this work in the General Fund, Public Works - Street Services, account no. 1001-43740-761-560634.
