Background
Every five years, the Village must prepare a Consolidated Plan for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to receive Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds. The purpose of the HUD-mandated Consolidated Plan is to state the priorities and strategies for meeting the needs of low- and moderate-income persons with CDBG funding. The Consolidated Plan will guide the funding allocations the Village recommends over the next five years, beginning with Program Year (PY) 2025, which starts on October 1, 2025.
In PY 2025, the Village will receive $1,574,409 in CDBG funding. The Community Development Citizen Advisory Commission (CDCAC) reviewed all PY 2025 applications and is recommending the following allocations to non-profit organizations that serve the Oak Park community.
Timing Considerations
HUD requires that the PY 2025 - 2029 Consolidated Plan and PY 2025 Annual Action Plan be submitted on or before August 15, 2025, in preparation for the October 1, 2025 program start date. Allowing for a 30-day public comment and aligning with Village Board meetings, a final draf...
