Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Trustee Lucia Robinson has moved, and Trustees Cory Wesley and Ravi Parakkat have seconded, to direct staff to draft a policy for Village Board consideration regarding the honorary designation of Village streets, facilities and business districts in recognition of individuals, including Dr. Percy Julian, and programs, purchases and initiatives in recognition of individuals.

Trustee Robinson specifically referenced Dr. Percy Julian due to his contributions to the medical and pharmaceutical industries as well as his family as long-time residents of the Oak Park community.

As a reference for the Board, attached to this item are two sample honorary street name policies from the City of Champaign and the City of Wheaton.
