Overview
Overview
The Oak Park Homelessness Coalition, of which the Village is a member, has completed an action plan to end homelessness in Oak Park. The Village used unused Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administration funds from a previous year to fund this plan, which was written by the Social IMPACT Research Center at Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights (IMPACT). This action item is to only receive the report.

Body
Staff Recommendation
Accept the Motion to receive the report.

Fiscal Impact
The plan was funded using $10,000 of Program Year 2014 CDBG Administrative funds.

Background
The Oak Park Homelessness Coalition (OPHC), seeks to help persons who are experiencing, or are at risk of, homelessness. In 2015, the Development Customer Services Neighborhood Services Division began attending meetings of the OPHC. Also in 2015, the Board approved the use of unused CDBG Administrative funds from Program Year 2014 to fund the development of a detailed action plan to provide direction to member agencies and entities. At this time the plan is ready to be submitted to the Board as a report.
A subsequent meeting of the Village Board will be scheduled to review the Coalition's plan and any impacts on the Village.

Alternatives
The Village Board could delay receipt of the plan to another meeting.

Previous Board Action
On September 8, 2015, the Board approved the use of left over CDBG Administrative funds from Program Year 2014 to fund plan development.
