Recommendation
Adopt the Resolution.
Background
The domestic water booster pump system at the Public Works Center (PWC) is original to the building circa 2007. The booster system ensures that adequate and consistent water pressure is delivered throughout the entire building. The system contains two pump drives, one of which failed towards the end of 2022. The failed pump drive cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced. The other pump is still functioning but has reached the end of its useful service life. With only one working pump, the current water pressure is below average, and if the remaining pump fails, the building water pressure could fall substantially. The Property Condition Assessment (PCA) of the PWC completed in 2023 identified the system as being due for replacement.
Staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) on November 15, 2023. The RFP was posted on the Village web page and in the Wednesday Journal. Three companies attended the pre-bid meeting on November 27, 2023. Proposals were due on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, and a total of two proposals were received. Omni Pump Repairs, Inc. submitted the most favorable proposal and staff recommends the Village approve an agreement with Omni Pump Repairs.
