The Village Board is required to pursuant to Section 2.06(d) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act (the “Act”), 5 ILCS 120/2.06(d), to conduct a semi-annual review of its executive session minutes and determine whether to release minutes.

Background
As required by the Act, the Village Clerk keeps written minutes of all executive sessions. The Board determined at an executive session held on June 11, 2024, that portions of its executive session minutes no longer require confidential treatment and are to be made available to the public. The proposed Resolution memorializes the Board’s determination as required by the Act and authorizes the Village Clerk to release the minutes set forth in the Resolution. The Resolution also approves the executive session minutes that are referenced in the Resolution and have been previously reviewed by the Board.
