Background
JD North seeks the issuance of a Craft Brew Lounge Class D-16 liquor license for the property located at 1026 North Boulevard. The Beer Shop has operated at this location since 2014 and will be under the new ownership of JD North.
The new ownership presented its application to continue the operation of The Beer Shop at a special meeting of the Liquor Control Review Board (“LCRB”) held on June 16, 2021. The LCRB found that JD North met all of the applicable requirements for the issuance of a D-16 license and voted to unanimously recommend that the license be issued. Prior to the issuance of the license, the Village Code must be amended to include the new owner as Class D-16 licensee.
