Background
In accordance with Village policy and State Statute 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4, the Village's corporate authorities may, by ordinance, authorize the disposal of property they may designate in order to dispose of surplus property not usable to the Village. The Village, through the Police Department, submits the items listed in the attachment to the Ordinance to be declared as surplus.

The Development Customer Services Department is in possession of approximately 350 copies of the book Ridgeland Revealed: Guide to the Architecture of the Ridgeland-Oak Park Historic District ("Ridgeland Revealed"). This book was published in 1993. It was created by the Oak Park Historic Preservation Commission and edited by Arlene Sanderson.

Ridgeland Revealed was originally sold at local bookstores in the 1990s-2000s and is available at Village Hall, the Oak Park Public Library, and Oak Park River Forest Museum. As of March 17, 2022, several second-hand copies are available for sale online at Amazon, Thrift Books, and eBay, ranging from $8.00 to $15.48. The original cost and quantity of the books are unknown.

The book would be offered to members of the Historic Preservation Commission as a resource, as well as any other interested members of the community.
