Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Overview
The State of Illinois and the Village share in the responsibility for the maintenance and electricity costs for all traffic signals located on the State highway system within the Village of Oak Park. The State enters into Intergovernmental Agreements with local Governmental Bodies to define responsibilities for the maintenance and energy costs for these traffic signals and to allow the Governmental Bodies to complete the maintenance of the State traffic signals. The current agreement for this maintenance expires on June 30, 2021. This item is for the Village maintenance of certain State traffic signals within Oak Park.

Fiscal Impact
Expenses for traffic signal maintenance and street lighting are funded in the General Fund, Street Lighting budget.

Public Works staff maintains the traffic signals and the Village invoices the State for their share of the maintenance quarterly. Since the traffic signals are within the Village's corporate limits there are no energy charges for the traffic signals per the franchise agreement with ComEd.

Background
The responsibility for maintenance of the State signals varies from municipality to municipality. In Oak Park, historically the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) maintains the States perimeter street traffic signals (IL 43-Harlem Ave., IL 64-North Ave., Roosevelt Rd.), and the Village maintains the internal street State traffic signals (Washington Blvd., Ridgeland Ave.).
