Overview
Overview
The Village of Oak Park has an agreement with Edwin Hancock Co.to provide design and construction engineering services for the 2015 alley improvements. Additions to the engineering contract scope for environmental testing and construction staking have resulted in a contract increase of $11,068 over the original contract amount of $248,600.

Fiscal Impact
There are sufficient available funds in the FY2015 Capital Improvement fund for Alley Improvements, account no. 3095-43780-101-570964 to cover the $11,068 cost for the change order to this contract. The two alley improvement construction contracts are complete and are approximately $50,426 under the awarded contract amounts resulting in approximately $100,000 in remaining funds in the FY2015 alley improvement budget.

Background
Edwin Hancock Engineering was awarded a contract in November of 2014 to design and manage the 2015 alley improvements for the Village of Oak Park. The Engineering Division added additional scope to this contract to perform environmental soil testing to identify locations with contaminated soils in order to have results in time for an early construction contract bidding and also added scope to have Edwin Hancock Engineering perform construction layout to save the Village costs from the contractor doing this work. The Engineering Division also reduced their contract scope for materials testing. The net result of the various changes orders to the contract scope resulted in a contract cost increase of $11,068.
