Recommendation

Recommendation

Adopt the Resolution.

Background

Adjudication has utilized the services of contractual bailiffs since the start of the current adjudication process in 2004. The bailiff performs security services for in-person hearings. The presence of a security officer in the hearing room helps create a safe and professional environment for staff and visitors.

Fiscal Impact

The hourly rate for the bailiff is $31.48. The proposed FY 2025 Budget for account # 1001-41030-101-530667 (External Support) is $171,017.00.

DEI Impact

Bailiff’s contracted by the Village receive civility and customer service training. The Bailiff’s engage with the diverse populations that attend administrative adjudication hearings. The bailiffs have little or no impact on addressing any potential disparities and there is no apparent environmental impact.
