Overview
The Fiscal Year 2022 Fleet Replacement Fund includes the replacement of a Parking Enforcement vehicle, a 2014 Ford Focus, and a Public Works Engineering vehicle, a 2001 Chevy Impala, with 2022 Ford Hybrid Escapes. The vehicles are being purchased through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) in order to take advantage of the volume discounts involved in such joint purchasing efforts. The SPC awarded the bid to Currie Motors of Frankfort, Illinois.

Fiscal Impact
The purchase of two 2022 Ford Hybrid Escapes will cost $53,887.00.
Funding is provided in Fleet Replacement Fund accounts No. 3032-43900-856-570750 ($34,000.00) and 3032-43900-858-570750 ($34,000.00).
Funds for necessary equipment such as light bars, warning lights, LPR transfer, etc., will also come from this account but will be purchased separately from vendors who supply this equipment and services.
Background
The new vehicles will include a 2.5 Liter, iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Hybrid engine and come with a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five year, 60,000-mile drivetrain warranty, as well as 8 years, 100,000 miles on the hybrid components. One vehicle will be used by the Parking Enforcement staff and the other vehicle will be used by the Engineering staff.
The drive components are based on the Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles already deployed in the Village fleet. The hybrid drive is predicted to save 40% of fuel spent from vehicles that are being replaced.
