Recommendation

Recommendation

Adopt the Ordinance.

Background

In accordance with Village policy and Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4, the Village Board may, by ordinance, authorize the disposition of designated Village property no longer usable to the Village. The Fire Department proposes that the items listed in Attachment A be declared surplus and donated to the Village of Forest Park.

With the new contract that the Fire Department has with Zoll, the department has been equipped with an updated version of the cardiac monitor, which makes the current supplies obsolete. The Village of Forest Park’s Fire Department will be able to put these accessories to use.

Fiscal Impact

There is no fiscal impact to the Village of Oak Park.

DEI Impact

There is a positive environmental impact of this ordinance. Donating the working cables, accessories, and batteries will keep them from being recycled or sent to a landfill while still having a valuable productive life left.
