Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Since August 2018, Eggen Consulting Group has been providing technical and administrative support to the Public Works, Water & Sewer Division. This current agreement will expire on September 23, 2021. Staff is recommending executing a new two-year agreement.

Funds for these services are available in Water & Sewer Fund, External Support, account no. 5040-43730-101-530667.

The Eggen Consulting Group, Inc. has proposed a very competitive rate for consulting engineering. A proposal for these services is attached.

Services will average just over 30 hours per week for a not-to-exceed total of $145,000.00 for the first-year term and $150,000.00 for the second year.

Background
The Public Works Department, Water & Sewer Division had been without a Superintendent from July 2018 until February 2021. After several attempts at recruiting there had been no qualified applicants to fill this position. In the interim, the Village reached out for assistance to provide technical and administrative support for this position.

James Eggen, President of Eggen Consulting Group, Inc. and former City of Joliet Director of the Department of Utilities filled the role of Interim Water & Sewer Superintendent beginning in August 2018.
